CHINESE GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIPS 2009/10

Applications are invited from qualified Tanzanians for Masters and Doctorate degree programs, tenable in the People’s Republic of China for the year 2009/2010.

FIELD OF STUDY

(I) MASTERS

Medicine (Clinical Stomatology, Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, Pediatrics), Agricultural Soil and Water Engineering, Fishery, Mining Engineering, Education Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering.

(II) DOCTORATE DEGREE

 Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, Agricultural Products Processing and Storage Engineering,Tourist Management, Rehabilitation Medicine and Physical Therapy.

QUALIFICATIONS

MASTERS:

Applicants for Master’s degree must;

• have a Bachelor Degree with a GPA of not less than 3.5 (this is not applicable for Medicine)

• submit academic certificates and transcripts

• submit birth certificate

• be not more than 35 years by September 2009

• be in good health

DOCTORATE DEGREE

Applicants for Doctorate Degree must;

• have Masters Degree with a GPA of not less 3.5 or an average grade of ‘B’ and above.

• submit academic certificates and transcripts of Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree.

• submit birth certificate

• be not more than 40 years by September 2009

• be in good health

MODE OF APPLICATION;

• All applicants must indicate their contact telephone numbers

• Applications from Zanzibar should be channeled through the Department of Higher Education,     Science and Technology in Zanzibar

NOMINATED CANDIDATES

Nominated candidates will be required to submit;

• Certified photocopies of birth certificate/affidavit

• Certified photocopies of academic certificates and transcripts

• Two letters of recommendations by two Professors or Associate Professors and one from the     applicants employer ( if any)

• Medical certificates

SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS

Successful applicants will have to;

• Purchase their own ticket to the required institution in China. Needy

students may apply for a loan from the Higher Education

Students Loans Board.

Purchase their own ticket to Tanzania when circumstances necessitate coming back home before completion of studies ( The Chinese Government will provide tickets for homeward journey after completion of studies) All applications should be addressed to;
