In Tanzania, TechnoServe supports the development of SME and various agricultural value chains including coffee, cocoa, tea and cotton.

TechnoServe has forged a partnership with General Mills, one of the largest food processing companies in the world, to establish a technology transfer program to build the capacity of food processors in Tanzania.

We are recruiting a Food Technology Specialist to lead this effort.

Primary objective: To design the technology transfer program in collaboration with General Mills and to build a pipeline of high potential food processing companies.

Duty stations: Dar es Salaam

Qualifications:

Applying candidates should possess the following requirements:

• B.Sc. in Food Technology, Master's degree preferred
• At least 5 years experience in food processing
• Strong private sector experience and entrepreneurial skills
• Proven track record of developing complex client business plans
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
• Strong interpersonal and management skills
• Good computer skills in business software (Excel, MS Project and PowerPoint)
• Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English and Kiswahili
• Ability to develop well written, cohesive reports that are responsive to the donors' needs
• A valid driving license

Reports to: Private Sector Development Director
